Doctor Aldo De Blasi – COVID-19 Guidelines

In which ways has Covid-19 affected implantology?
Covid-19 has influenced and will affect both the private and working lives of many of us. From a working point of view, we have to develop new protocols for patient management, disinfection and operator protection.
For what concern implantology, it is not clear how much it will affect this type of treatment offered to our patients.
Up to now we have always worked in a sterile and protected environment and I think that we will integrate the new protection directives with the protocols we already implemented in the past.
I think that implantology will be a therapy that we will continue to offer regularly to our patients, also because in certain circumstances that gives reliable long-term results.

What is expected of professionals during the so called “phase 2”?
In phase 2, we will come back to work by putting into practice the new protocols and the new timing for managing appointments. To optimize the appointment time and the patient’s stay in the office, where possible, we will try to do several therapies in the same appointment.
We will try to minimize the total number of sessions as far as possible to complete the treatment plan.
