A summary of the first EL Clinical Study
It has been 2,5 years since the EL implant has been introduced and the first clinical study has now been finally completed. This study, comprising 600 implants, evaluated the following criteria, success rate, esthetic results, gingival width, bone loss and depth of the keratinized gingiva.
A SUMMARY OF THE RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• | The success rate is 99,7% (2 implants lost for 600 placed) |
• | Pink Esthetic Score (PES), a measure of the esthetic success on the implant: 98,5% achieved an PES rating of between 8 and 10 |
• | Gingival width: In 92,9% of the cases the keratinzed tissue had a width of equal to or more than 3mm |
• | Bone loss around the implant: in 100% of the surviving implant cases, there was no measurable bone loss |
Indeed as we have been double checking these numbers with all big users and double checking again against all the reported warranty cases and multiplying those reports by a factor of 3 to account for unreported failures, we find that in all cases the failure rates are less than 1%.
Due to the requirements by publishers that we not release the article until it has actually been published, we will not be able to send out to you the complete study until it appears in print.
